Kuttisanji

Aiming at saving me our society from the curse of plastic, the Mannarkkad Rural Service Co-operative Bank and Malayala Manorama joined hand in hand and have a scheme, the result in ‘Cotton Baglet’ or ‘Kuttisanji’.

Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues, as rapidly increasing production of disposable plastic products overwhelms the world’s ability to deal with them. The conveniences plastics offer, however, led to a throw-away culture that reveals the material’s dark side: today, single-use plastics account for 40 percent of the plastic produced every year. Many of these products, such as plastic bags and food wrappers, have a lifespan of mere minutes to hours, yet they may persist in the environment for hundreds of years.

The Cotton Baglet can hold 14 kgs of things whenever we go to the market we go with them and bring things. These cotton baglets can be kept in vehicles as well. In the beginning the Bank will distribute necessary cottonbaglets freely. The enterprises like Kudumbasree can do it is a self employment. We see, in the future the ladies may use cotton baglets as vanity bags and students in school bags. Actually, ‘Save Earth’ in the motto of Cotton Baglet Special Campaign against plastic carry bags.
